Well, needless to say, this experiment was a failure. I didn’t receive enough Diggs quick enough to reach the front page. I did receive a lot of traffic, and, people actually left comments. Imagine that.
The story ended up with a total of 84 Diggs, as of right now. I was out of town Friday. I have been told that if a story doesn’t reach the front page of Digg within 24 hours of its posting, it will never reach the front page, so, with me being out of town, I didn’t get to see how many Diggs it had when it reached the 24 hour mark.
What did I get out of this? A number of comments on Digg stating that the story wouldn’t get a lot of diggs, and that I was a spammer. I have come to the conclusion, that there are just some people on Digg, who accept shouts from everybody, and then just bitch about it whenever they receive a shout. I also, as stated earlier, received right around 200 visits yesterday. My only hope is that at least a few of those people actually visit back and become regular readers of my blog.
If you did happen across this blog for the first time because of Digg, please, let me know about it. I’m interested to know who reaches my site, and from where. I always have my analytics report, but that only tells me the number of people and where they came from, not who they are.
For all of you Diggers out there that gave my story a Digg, thank you. I was told from the very beginning that I wouldn’t get any more than maybe 10 Diggs, but, that post recieved 84. Until then the most Dugg post I’ve had only had about 46 Diggs. Thank you all.
