I still believed

Something has consumed you
Power is misused too
Devoured like you used to
You’ve let yourself abuse you

I’ll be my own savior now
Follow and I’ll show you how
I promise to never be much of anything
But nothing is as strong as imagining
Closing eyes and opening minds
Uncovering what we thought that you should find

My inner most thoughts
Contain me even more
It consumes me even so
I’m not sure I can pour
My heart out to you
The way I used to
The way I loved
All the times I rose and flew

For every way that it all ends
Eternity is not a trend
And everything that brings me back

Alone I am
My own self pity

Drowns out time
And noise and lights
Dulling everything
Into everything

Thoughts of hope and doubt
Of life and love
From the toxic institution
Above

The son of man was slain

Feel it all
Let nothing go untouched

The emptiness of man
The solitude it leaves you in
The unforgotten plan
To end the world and back again
Inside myself I scream
The solace in the place I know
