Welcome to my mind

a jungle growing
thick and deep
threats hiding
in shady spaces
dank and wet

the sun filters
through the trees
catching a solemn
butterfly supping
succulent nectar
feeding

lost with a
tattered, decrepit map
pausing to inhale
intoxicating, inebriating
thoughts
of an all consuming
puzzle with unknown
missing pieces.

A feeling so rare

It seems i’ve found a reason to write poetry again :)
hope you all enjoy

Never before have I felt this way
confused but in a happy way
hear racing a million miles per hour
a feeling this rare has removed
all reasons for me to worry or care

A smile so sweet, and a personality
so rare, mixed together produce
a perfect pair.

A feeling like this, of such a rare degree
a beautiful feeling that removes my worries
and fears.
Is it really true, this feeling, this emotion
can something like this feel so surreal
and yet be clear as day?

A feeling so rare, one in which this moment
in my daydreams and dreams
A feeling like this, I won’t let go
This feeling, so perfect. So rare.

The Music to Keep

I heard a song within me
Was it my heart who sings our song?
And as I listen to the melody,
I can’t make myself asleep ’til dawn.

My soul started to sing
And my mind begins to think again,
Trying to remember the times when we’re together,
The times when we’re not friends, but lovers.

Does anyone hear the music?
Do you ever care for the lonely beat?

As the music plays over and over,
Well… it’s you I always remember.
The tears started to fall like rain into the river,
For the thought that we can’t be together forever.

I’m not a perfect person, I know.
And in committing mistakes, I always fall.
Loneliness?
Oh, it always comes,
Specially now, that you were gone.

Couldn’t be just you and me
And build our dreams to reality?
But then, it’s time for you to say goodbye.
I know I’ve LIVED, LOVED, LOST and DIE.

Our song comes to an end
But, somehow, I hope that my heart will mend.
Even if I know that we can’t be together again:
This music in my heart will keep on playing the refrain.

To Taste the Moon

Here is a selection from my children’s collection. I hope you enjoy!

I want to taste the moon
but it looks like someone
already did .

I wonder what it would taste
like, if I could taste the
moon.

Maybe heavenly honeydew
or luscious lemon pie
perhaps a cool mint candy.

I lie here on the growing green
grass and taste the
moon in my dreams
as I watch the moon rise
to its throne atop a
twilight sky
and the summer sun
sink into its starry slumber.

I want to taste the
moon but it looks
like someone already
did.
