I’m not sure how exactly I found MixedMarketArts.com, but I’m glad I did. The post (Well, posts rather) that inspired me to write this review, was well thought out and very informative. The blog is owned by Collin LaHay.
Mixed Market Arts shows it’s readers how to actually drive traffic to their website/blog. So many other sites out there claim to do so, but when you reach the page, you realize that the content is either lacking something, or is already stuff you know. Mixed Market Arts not only informs you of a lot of different, unique ways to attract traffic, but also how to turn that traffic into some $$dollar signs$$.
The Link Building Cookbook is a slew of posts on how to build up your links. With currently 14 separate parts to it, I’m sure the Link Building Cookbook can answer most questions you have about how to increase traffic, build up links, and get more buzz for your site or blog.
Most link building guides show you how to get your links on sites, but those sites most of the time have a relatively low PR, and your link being on those pages, while it does increase the number of link backs to your site, it doesn’t help with your PR as much as it would if those sites had a PR of 5 or 6. The Link Building Cookbook not only tells you how to get MILLIONS of backlinks, but it also gives you a few sites with a PR of 5-8. Included in all of that, Collin Lahay has included a few strategies to get some coveted .edu and .gov links.
I myself am personally viewing The Link Building Cookbook as a well thought out plan for me to initiate to increase my traffic even more. I have the entire thing saved to my computer, and I check it everyday and see where I need to go next and what I need to do.
The greatest thing about The Link Building Cookbook is that unlike so many other Internet marketers, Collin hasn’t compiled it all into an E-Book that’s for sale. No. The Link Building Cookbook is as free as free can get. It contains information that you don’t see everywhere on the net. It’s truly unique, and, it works.
Here’s an example of a few posts in The Cookbook.
Unlimited Free .edu and .gov Links
CBox - 400,000 free backlinks using Google
Tagbox - Free PR6 sitewide links and hundreds more
1,000,000 free backlinks to promote your sites!
Two easy free links for all of your sites
As you can tell, The Cookbook works. If you need further proof, simply go back and read through this review. Notice all of the links that Collin got from me simply by posting The Cookbook!

admin It wasn’t too long ago that I was writing a post talking about how this blog had finally reached 4,000 Visits
in 2 months. Well, November has proven to be my best month yet. I know I post a lot about traffic, but it interests me. Everyday it’s like the game is on to see if I can get more visitors than the last day. I try various things, and all seem to work at least a little. Social Bookmarking is a big traffic source for this blog, and while that doesn’t say a lot (Because usually “Social Traffic” as I’ll call it, doesn’t have a big conversion rate), it is still traffic. I would really like to venture outside of my comfort zone and try to gain more traffic from search engines, but I’m not sure how to go about doing that.
The reason I’m writing this post is to inform you that my “4,000 Visits” post, was nothing. As of right now, for the month of November alone, this site has had 3,810 visits. My short term, 1 day goal, is to make that number reach at least 4,000 by the end of tomorrow.
Here’s a screen shot of yet another Analytics report

I really want to meet my new goal, and I want to see this site expand into something very popular in the online world. If you want to see me succeed, help me out.
Oh, and BTW, ‘Abuse HostGator‘ has had over 5,000 views. Thank you Post Views plugin.
What You Can Do To Help Me Reach My Goal
…And If You Want To Be Super Cool….
I will be posting the results tomorrow at some point. Be sure to check back. Until then, vote in this poll.

admin This blog is growing everyday. New visitors click around, and read a few of these things I write, and some
of them even come back the next day to see if I said anything new. If you do happen to be a reader of this blog, you happen to know that when I have a spike in traffic, I like to talk about it. If you’re new here, perhaps you should subscribe to my feed.
The “Abuse HostGator” post has been by far my most viewed post to date. The Post Views plug-in is showing 3,240 views as of right now, dwarfing the figures for “Ever Heard Of A Ruler” at 911. I wasn’t aware of this spike until just yesterday when I noticed that while looking my site over.
Apparently StumbleUpon users liked my rant about HostGator and the terrible time they put me through. I’m not sure exactly how many people actually gave it a thumbs up, but it was obviously more than just me. In checking my analytics report for yesterday, I was stunned. Even more so, today, I’m at 301 visits so far. I’m not going to tell you how much traffic I’ve had. I’ll show you.
776 visits, in one day. And to think, I got excited with 429. I know this all may seem rather stupid, me posting about such a small amount of visitors, but it makes me happy to know that all of my work is starting to pay off.
StumbleUpon is the one to thank for all of the lovely traffic. Over the past 3 days, I have had 1,287 visits. Seeing as how usually I get about 2,000 visits per month on average, I’d say that’s a big improvement. 1,195 of those visits were uniques, and they all resulted in 2,634 pageviews in 3 days.
Where’d My Traffic Come From?

Mainly StumbleUpon =)
If you don’t already use StumbleUpon, I would suggest using it. Not only is it great for driving traffic, but when you’re bored, you can just stumble around until your not bored. It’s really great.
Traffic, traffic, traffic!
What Pages Were Visited?

HostGator’s rather popular, but, I guess that would mean unpopular wouldn’t it?
It’s interesting also, that the least viewed page, was my last post about my traffic.
StumbleUpon is a great way to get your numbers way up there, if you work the system properly. How do you work that system you ask? All that I did was sign-up and use it as it was intended. Perhaps in the future I’ll write a guide to using StumbleUpon for traffic. The best advice that I can give you, is that when you’re bored and not doing anything, click on that Stumble button and rate a few sites up and down. Also, adding a few friends wouldn’t hurt either.
The only downside to StumbleUpon traffic, is the fact that your large amount of new visitors are not going to be very prone to clicking on anything other than the stumble button. Why click on a ad when you can just stumble to an interesting site, you know. Adsense earnings haven’t increased at all in fact during this spike of traffic. Yesterday I had over 1000 impressions on Adsense, and 0 clicks. Part of that was my fault, but I switched out my CC banner for some Adsense, and I’ll see how that does.
Note:
Media Layer hosting is working pretty well. No “Abuse” emails and what not. Seems to be working out just fine. WP-SuperCache is helping out a lot with that too.

Today, Poetry 2.0 hit a milestone. In a little over 2 months, there have been 4000 visits to this blog. As you can see in the picture, most of that traffic didn’t come in until recently when I made the switch over to Wordpress. For all of you bloggers out there still fiddling around with Blogger, I know you love your setup, but trust me, you would love Wordpress even more.
A majority of the traffic that is displayed in that screen shot, is from StumbleUpon, and interestingly enough, coming in at number two is Digg. This surprises me because almost all of my stories are buried instantly because of dicks people on Digg who call everything “Blog Spam”.
I’m not sure whether or not 4000 visits in 2 months is a good thing, or a bad one. What’s the average amount of traffic for a relatively new blog?
Even though my traffic has gone way up since my first month, I’m not profiting from any of it. I suspect the reasoning for nobody leaving comments, or helping me out with my CashCrate contest, is the fact that most of the traffic comes from StumbleUpon. When you’re stumbling around you never stop to click on things in the site, you stumble upon the site, look around, read whatever post there is, and stumble upon another site.
While I appreciate the traffic and exposure that I get from Stumble Upon, I definitely wish those visitors would leave a comment when they drop by. I just need to come up with something different to promote my site. I am after all still kind of new at this blogging thing, and I’m expecting it to all fall together perfectly within a short amount of time.
