Traffic Goal (Surpassed)

Sunday
Dec 2,2007

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Thank you all for visiting my site, stumbling your favorites, and subscribing to my feed.

This is the follow-up post to the last one. My goal was to attain 4,000 visits for the month of November, and luckily, I did so. December is looking to be a good month already with over 600 visits in two days. This is going to be the last post I make about my traffic for a while. I know you’re all tired of reading about my traffic.

The month of November ended with :

  • 4,280 Visits
  • 7,866 Pageviews
  • 2,792 Visits from StumbleUpon
  • 3,730 Unique visitors

This blog was first started on September 1st, and is just starting it’s 4th month. That’s pretty good traffic so far right? I’m not sure exactly where I “should” be, but it doesn’t look too bad to me. I mean, I’ve had 7,695 visits and just under 15,000 pageviews in 3 months.

Let me know your opinion. Of course I know I could always do better, but is this a good point for me to be at right now? This month I’m going to try to focus on gaining traffic from somewhere other than StumbleUpon, the only thing is I’m not sure how to do that. Leave a comment and give me a few tips.

Happy Birthday Nichele

Saturday
Nov 17,2007

Apparently today’s Nichele’s 21st birthday. Her blog has a counter, and I’ve been waiting until it said “Today Is My Birthday” and it finally is. I wish I could get a present or something, but, I can’t. All I can do is post a link to her site and ask you all to visit. It is her birthday after all.

Please visit Nichele’s blog and leave her a comment wishing her a happy birthday!

Update on our CashCrate Competition : Nichele’s in the lead, about 13 or less away from 50 referrals, where as I, am still at only 2. Looks to me like she’s going to win, but you can still help me win by reading my review and signing up.

My Images Have Disappeared

Wednesday
Nov 7,2007

As I’m sure you’ve noticed, the images in some of my posts have disappeared. I will fix all of this as soon as I get a chance.

If anybody knows of a plugin that can switch all of my images over for me, please, leave a comment with a link.

Earnings have went up, with the sale of a poem, be sure to check out my earnings for this month, here’s a link.

I have 2 new Cash Crate referrals. Thank you whoever you are for signing up. However, none of my referrals are completing any offers. If there are any problems getting offers to confirm, leave a comment, or shoot me an email, and I’ll see if I can’t help you make some money.

Article writing is going well, AC is the most amazing website ever. Helium’s right up there with AC in my book, but, AC does have the upfront payment advantage over Helium. It’s great, I write an article, submit it to AC for upfront payment, get my money in a day or two, reword the article, submit it to Helium, then I’m earning ad revenue from both AC and Helium.

I would like to say thank you to Julie, (Sunny’s Mom) for feeding me the other day. That was rather nice of her, seeing as how I was starving.

Poetry 2.0

Monday
Nov 5,2007

It’s official. The switch has been made. Blogger shall no longer plague me with it’s limited features, and other various downfalls. As you can see, there are many new things, and many things that still need to be fixed. I have decided that since I’ve got basically an entirely new site, the name has to change to. Poetry, Money, and More wasn’t doing it for me. I guess I could always act like John Chow and turn it into Poetic Money dot Com, but that seems lame. Poetry 2.0 suits this place just fine don’t you think?

Please, take the time to look around my blog, if you find anything that seems out of place or that doesn’t work like it’s supposed to, leave a comment on that post informing me of what’s wrong. A majority of people can find the errors quicker than I can by myself.

For those of you who never commented on my other blog because you could never find the comment link, I apologize for that, but now, you have no excuse because it’s plain as day to see, so you know what to do.

The switch didn’t go nearly as smooth as I had hoped it would. First of all HostGator Support is wonderful. HostGator itself, is just a tiny bit out of date. I originally installed Wordpress via Fantastico, (which is Fantastic!) and got everything set up just the way I wanted to, but then I tried to import my posts! Then all hell broke loose. It took me about a half an hour of trying to make the import feature work until I realized that Fantastico (Not so fantastically) installed Wordpress 2.2. So I then had to gather up all of my 2.3.1 files and FTP them to my site. The kicker to that is, that while I was going through all of my plug-ins, and adding them to the 2.3.1 folder so that I didn’t have to upload them separately, I noticed the Automatic Upgrader plug-in I had downloaded, and proceeded to simply upload all of my plug-ins instead of the newer version of Wordpress.

Apparently, Automatic Upgrader Plug-in + Wordpress 2.2 = Disaster. I then decided it best to simply start from the beginning and do what I had originally planned to do. I got Wordpress upgraded just fine after that. Aside from the fact that I had to make a new database, it went pretty smoothly from then on out.

It is now 4:44 AM EST, and I have class at 10AM. Unfortunately, I would love to stay up and write a few more posts, and perfect my blog even more, but I live an 1 1/2 hours away from the school, and I generally wake up at 7:30AM, so if I plan on getting any sleep whatsoever I have to go. I will be back and updating again tomorrow night. If you like the new design, don’t be afraid to tell me so in my poll. Also, feel free to comment.

Oh, and tell everybody you know about it.
