A Place To Relax

Cash Crate Competition

Thursday
Nov 8,2007

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I stated at the beginning of this month that I was going to start focusing on gaining more Cash Crate referrals. It appears to have developed into something even more than that. I set my goal this month to getting 50 active referrals before the end of the month. Well, that’s a thing of the past, because I just might have to get more than that. Nichele, a fellow blogger, set the same goal. We got into a minor argument, which all started when I said I could get more referrals before the end of the month than her. I will NOT allow Nichele to win.

I am going to win this contest if it takes me being online constantly until the end of the month. I have a long way to go.

I have a few ideas up my sleeve for obtaining more referrals than Nichele. Anyone that signs up using one of my links, will be asked to send an email to dudeinwrens (at) gmail.com with your referral #. (This number can be found at the end of your referral link) At the end of the month, I will select 3 people, and I will write a FREE review of their website/blog, and include a link/banner in my sidebar for the entire month of December.

Nichele thinks she’s going to win because she’s ahead of me right now, but I don’t think so. I trust my readers will help me out with this.

If you’re still not sure exactly what Cash Crate is, be sure to read my review. Basically, it’s a free way to make money online by filling out a few forms and taking surveys.

Nichele and I don’t have anything against each other, it’s just a friendly competition. But we are at war!

Currently, Nichele is way in the lead. She got the jump on me. Not sure how, but I assume she cheated some way or another. The contest is based on Active Referrals, and that means that refers to the referrals that actually complete an offer. Once a referral reaches payout, a $3 bonus is received. Nichele is stomping me into the ground right now with this one.

The standings are

Nichele = 30 Active Referrals

Me = 1 Active Referral!

She’s ahead of me already by 29, but I’m still going to win. Be sure to check back frequently for contest updates, and to see who’s winning.

If you haven’t signed up for Cash Crate, please do so and help me win this competition. (There could be something in it for you!)

My Images Have Disappeared

Wednesday
Nov 7,2007

As I’m sure you’ve noticed, the images in some of my posts have disappeared. I will fix all of this as soon as I get a chance.

If anybody knows of a plugin that can switch all of my images over for me, please, leave a comment with a link.

Earnings have went up, with the sale of a poem, be sure to check out my earnings for this month, here’s a link.

I have 2 new Cash Crate referrals. Thank you whoever you are for signing up. However, none of my referrals are completing any offers. If there are any problems getting offers to confirm, leave a comment, or shoot me an email, and I’ll see if I can’t help you make some money.

Article writing is going well, AC is the most amazing website ever. Helium’s right up there with AC in my book, but, AC does have the upfront payment advantage over Helium. It’s great, I write an article, submit it to AC for upfront payment, get my money in a day or two, reword the article, submit it to Helium, then I’m earning ad revenue from both AC and Helium.

I would like to say thank you to Julie, (Sunny’s Mom) for feeding me the other day. That was rather nice of her, seeing as how I was starving.

How Evil Is Google Today?

I’m not sure how I found this post, but I did. I found it to be very interesting. I personally view Google as all powerful. I honestly believe that if Google wanted to, they could shutdown the entire internet, or at least screw it up beyond belief, and fix it all and have it back to normal within a day. The thing that intrigues me about Google though, is the fact that if anybody was to do something like that, it would be Google. I would expect something like that from them, what with the whole Page Rank fiasco.

Quoted text originally posted at http://blog.linkworth.com/how-evil-is-google-today/

“Ok, after all this going on I had to see what GOOG was doing (notice I link to Yahoo!). As I’m watching their stock price in amazement, Yahoo’s refreshing thing refreshes and I can’t get my print screen done fast enough, but this is what I “witnessed”:

Google Stock Price

I just couldn’t help it knowing the whole “Evil (#6)” thing and what is going on today.

Should we start a chant around the world for anyone who owns Google stock? SELL GOOG, SELL GOOG, SELL GOOG ! ! ! A public company means it’s owned by the public, somewhat. If you’re a stock holder, then show them what you think of them and sell while it’s this high and make your money!”

Poetry 2.0

Monday
Nov 5,2007

It’s official. The switch has been made. Blogger shall no longer plague me with it’s limited features, and other various downfalls. As you can see, there are many new things, and many things that still need to be fixed. I have decided that since I’ve got basically an entirely new site, the name has to change to. Poetry, Money, and More wasn’t doing it for me. I guess I could always act like John Chow and turn it into Poetic Money dot Com, but that seems lame. Poetry 2.0 suits this place just fine don’t you think?

Please, take the time to look around my blog, if you find anything that seems out of place or that doesn’t work like it’s supposed to, leave a comment on that post informing me of what’s wrong. A majority of people can find the errors quicker than I can by myself.

For those of you who never commented on my other blog because you could never find the comment link, I apologize for that, but now, you have no excuse because it’s plain as day to see, so you know what to do.

The switch didn’t go nearly as smooth as I had hoped it would. First of all HostGator Support is wonderful. HostGator itself, is just a tiny bit out of date. I originally installed Wordpress via Fantastico, (which is Fantastic!) and got everything set up just the way I wanted to, but then I tried to import my posts! Then all hell broke loose. It took me about a half an hour of trying to make the import feature work until I realized that Fantastico (Not so fantastically) installed Wordpress 2.2. So I then had to gather up all of my 2.3.1 files and FTP them to my site. The kicker to that is, that while I was going through all of my plug-ins, and adding them to the 2.3.1 folder so that I didn’t have to upload them separately, I noticed the Automatic Upgrader plug-in I had downloaded, and proceeded to simply upload all of my plug-ins instead of the newer version of Wordpress.

Apparently, Automatic Upgrader Plug-in + Wordpress 2.2 = Disaster. I then decided it best to simply start from the beginning and do what I had originally planned to do. I got Wordpress upgraded just fine after that. Aside from the fact that I had to make a new database, it went pretty smoothly from then on out.

It is now 4:44 AM EST, and I have class at 10AM. Unfortunately, I would love to stay up and write a few more posts, and perfect my blog even more, but I live an 1 1/2 hours away from the school, and I generally wake up at 7:30AM, so if I plan on getting any sleep whatsoever I have to go. I will be back and updating again tomorrow night. If you like the new design, don’t be afraid to tell me so in my poll. Also, feel free to comment.

Oh, and tell everybody you know about it.
