Best Day Ever

Today has been PoeticMoney.com’s best day ever as far as traffic is concerned. Can you guess who the culprit is? The wonderful source of my 422 visits so far today? Coming in at #1, responsible for 68.72% of my traffic today, sending me 290 visits, is none other than Stumble Upon. Here’s a screen shot of my Analytics report.

For some reason or another Stumble Upon has decided to send me all of this traffic. I am also interested to know if this spike of traffic is going to be the same as last time, and extend to about 4 days.

Why does Stumble Upon randomly send you hundreds of traffic one day, and then 3 or 4 visits the next? Who out there knows how Stumble Upon decides who gets traffic? If you know, please, leave a comment.

Malion’s Deviant Art

Sunday
Oct 28,2007

Have you ever stumbled around on the internet and found something that you simply couldn’t help but tell other’s about? That seems to be the case with me constantly. When I’m not updating my blog, or writing articles, I’m stumbling around looking for something interesting to post. Today I found a friend’s deviant art page. Ironically enough, I was chatting with Malion via AIM as I found the page. I was not only drawn in, but I was impressed as well. I mean, come on, look at that picture. How perfect does that look?

Malion was giving me some info on his page. He said that he’s had the page for 3 years, and he recently reached 3,000 page views. Now, calculating all of that up, that averages out to about 3 visits a day. At the same time I was telling him about my blog, and the 2 months that it’s been alive. He asked me to add a link to his page, since today I received 900+ pageviews. I told Malion that I would do him one better. Since he’s a friend of mine, and has been for quite some time, I decided to write a post dedicated to his page.

Malion not only has interesting pictures of himself on this page, but also, his own personal drawings of different Lost characters in precarious positions. In addition to that Malion has what he refers to as “Scart” or, “Scanner Art” which is basically pressing things against a scanner, and manipulating it until you come up with something cool like this.

Malion told me that he enjoyed my blog, and was amazed at the fact that I had sold $60 worth of poetry online. For all of you bloggers out there, give Malion’s page a look. If you see anything that you like, rest assured, Malion has stated that he is interested in following in my footsteps, and wants to sell some of his art. He doesn’t currently have a blog, but with the help of me, he soon will. Be sure to check back for a link to his blog.

If you visited Malion’s page, be sure to stop back by and leave me a comment. Let me know what’s your favorite. My personal favorite is the one at the top of my blog. I think it’s simply amazing.

If you haven’t visited Malion’s page, shame on you. I mean, yeah, it’s your choice to go or not to go, but just think, “What Would Ethan Christ Do?” (That’s not meant to insult anybody. Christ actually is my last name)

This month I plan to start my article marketing campaign, and attract long time readers. Cash Crate referrals are another goal of mine. Recruiting will begin shortly. I’ve always went with the philosophy that if I set my goals higher than I expect, I won’t be disappointed, so for this month, I will set my earnings goal at $1,000. Let’s see how I do.

Get Paid To Programs
Cash Crate - $50.04
Fairy Tale Treasures- $2.75
Gangster Greed-$5.30
Fusion Cash- $0
Total Earnings from Get Paid To Programs as of October 28, 2007 - $58.09

Internet Marketing
Adsense - $29.76

Looks like I’ve got a lot of poetry to sell if I’m to make it to $1,000 before the end of the month.
Wish me luck!

Impressed by Wordpress

Sunday
Oct 28,2007

I am currently in the process to switching blogging platforms. Making the move from Blogger to Wordpress. So far I am rather impressed by Wordpress, and all of the extra features and plug ins that you simply don’t get with Blogger. I have it set up right now on my local host, and I’m trying to get it all set up the way that I want (Template, Widgets, Etc.) before I switch the domain over.

The thing about Wordpress that is completely different than Blogger, is the fact that if you want a plug in, you have to download and install it. Occasionally you might have to change some coding in your template, or even the plug in itself. Seeing as how I have a very limited knowledge of any coding whatsoever, I’m sure that making the switch will take me longer than it would others.

After it’s all said and done though, I think that you will all be rather impressed with the new blog.
It’s going to be much easier to navigate, comments are going to be 10x easier to post, and, with the SEO plug in that I downloaded, I should get better rankings. These are things that you simply can’t do with Blogger. Blogger limits you to what you can do. With wordpress, you can literally do just about anything you want to, as long as you can find the plug in. If you can’t find the plug in, you can always just write one yourself.

If you are familiar with Wordpress, and know of any links that will help me with switching the domain over from where it is now, on my blogger acct, to my Wordpress blog, please, leave a comment with a link included.

I’m not sure what template I’m going to use just yet, but I can tell you this, I have heard from various people that they didn’t like the all black template, so you can expect a different color scheme.

I don’t know about you, but I’m excited.

Posting will probably slow down a bit, until I get it all transfered over to Wordpress, then I will pick back up with posting.

Is there anybody else out there that’s making or has made the switch? I know that Amy is doing the same thing.
